§2.9

Why every count here is a floor

No count published from this database is complete coverage of a chain, and none is presented as one.

Each chain records a synchronisation pointer for how far ingestion has reached. On all nine chains that pointer runs ahead of the deepest block actually ingested, by 2 blocks on polygon, 288 on ethereum, 7,878 on arbitrum and 114,881 on bnb.

The migration into this database is provably faithful to its source. The source is not a complete record of the chains. Both statements are true, and the second is the one that governs how a count may be described.

So every count is written as transfers measured. Never transfers, and never anything implying a total.
